Product Details

The SC4, an adaptable SelfCheck unit designed to blend in with library décor, is equipped with a built-in printer, barcode scanner, RFID card reader, and RFID item reader. Additional options include library calendar functionality, auto re-encoding of tags to the library’s current data model, item recommendations, multiple ILS integration, and digital content, providing patrons with greater access to manage their accounts and library materials and programs.

Functions

Check-Out

  • Patron card is scanned (Barcode and/or RFID).
  • Materials to be borrowed are placed on RFID antennae or read by barcode scanner.
  • Items are identified, signed out to the patron’s account and security is deactivated automatically. The ILS is updated in real time.
  • Patron has the option of printing a receipt, receiving an emailed receipt or declining receipt.

User Account / Renewals

  • Patron gains full access to his/her account by scanning patron card.
  • Screen displays all items connected to the account including holds and outstanding fines.
  • Patron can choose to renew selected or all material currently checked out. ILS will be updated in real time and renewal policies in the ILS are followed.
  • Patron has the option of printing a receipt, receiving an emailed receipt or declining receipt as well as getting a list of all items connected to the patron record.

Check-in (Return)

  • No patron identification is needed to return material.
  • Materials to be renewed are placed on RFID antennae or read by barcode scanner.
  • Items are identified and security is reactivated automatically. ILS is updated in real time.
  • Patron has the option of printing a receipt, receiving an emailed receipt or declining receipt as well as getting a list of all items connected to the patron record.
